The atmosphere of the Main Lodge takes you back to a by-gone era. The walls hum with the many conversations overheard throughout the years. In one corner is a player piano where you pump with your legs and out comes "When the Saints come marching in." In the other corner is an authentic working Turntalbe, with records like great grandma use to play. Back in the 30's, Nelson and Virgina Ross would roll back the carpets after dinner, and the guests danced the night away to the same turntable. Scattered throughout are memories and history of the Lodge, as well as gifts from guests over the Lodge's 100 year history. Our fireplace mantel is VERY eclectic!
Hey kids... don't worry this is not a "hand in pocket place." You are welcome to look and touch and play. If you look under the center table you will find wooden trucks to play with while waiting for dinner and these is a big wooden fish to sit on under another table.
During Breakfast and Dinner, the Main Lodge is a gathering place to meet and greet fellow guests, or have a conversation with the Ross Family. In the afternoons, it is a quiet place to escape to with a good book. (Do not be surprised if you find Prue Ross, catching a cat nap on the red sofa!).
So...Come explore and enjoy Teal Lake's living room. |
