ISLAND PICNIC…
On THURSDAYs in the Summer, leaving our main docks around noonish, we take everyone out to the big island, Knott's Island, where the state permits a large grill and about four picnic tables. We transport everyone who wishes to come with us on the pontoon boats, while other guests and fishing guides, arrive in their own boats or the guide boats. The menu is hamburgers and brats with coleslaw, hot German potato salad, baked beans etc. We take a tour of the island, visiting the base of the eagle nesting tree & remains of the hermit's cabin (Ed Knott - namesake of the island) Cabin. Kids and dogs are known to go for a swim in the lake (sometimes not on purpose!). It is a wonderful time to meet other guests, to explore, to learn, and to eat! We usually return to mainland around two-ish.

What a treat to have all the fun of a picnic without all the mess and bother! All is ready when our pontoon boats arrive and then we blithely pull away leaving it all behind for our younger staff to clean up!
