We are one of very few places that still love to prepare and pack the classic Northwoods "shore lunch" for you – to be cooked by your fishing guide or on your own. Teal Lake has 6 wilderness islands that offer the perfect setting for this north country tradition. We not only provide the food but also all the pots, pans and skillets, firewood etc. Designed to be cooked over an open fire the menu includes bacon and onion sandwiches on fresh baked bread, potatoes fried in the bacon grease, baked beans, and real Canadian WALLEYE fried over the open fire that allows it to take on a taste that cannot be replicated in a kitchen. Not a meal to eat before going to the doctor but oh it is good and you are on vacation in the northwoods!
Basic packing charge of $30 per 10 people (yes, we can pack a shore lunch and provide transportation to the island for the whole family/meeting/convention - we have done up to 80!) If you don't have a fishing guide, you can cook your own or we can provide a cook and set-up staff at an hourly rate. When you are done, just wrap those sooty skillets in newspaper and bring all the mess to the back door of the kitchen at the lodge.
$30 set up fee fro every 10 people plus…
$19 per person if the Lodge send the Walleye
(this is the most common practice and least hassle for you)
$10 per person if you or your guide notify us that you will bring your own fish.
$10 per person if only hamburgers or bratwurst, without all the fish fixings.
(often a classic shore lunch takes along a couple of hamburgers for non-fish eaters.)
